On behalf of Navarro Elementary School and Navarro ISD, we extend a warm welcome to our military-connected families. We recognize the immense sacrifices you and your children make in service to our nation. Moving to a new community, adjusting to a new school, and navigating military transitions like deployments or Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders present unique challenges.

As a past designated Purple Star Campus, Navarro Elementary is committed to easing these transitions and serving as a welcoming, supportive home for your child’s educational journey.

Transitioning to a new school can feel overwhelming, but at Navarro Elementary, you are never alone! We offer specialized programs to help military-connected students feel immediately included:

• Campus Transition Program & Student Ambassadors: Our student leadership and ambassador groups help new military students quickly adapt to their new surroundings. New students are paired with peer buddies who provide guided campus tours, assist during the first week of school, and eat lunch together to build instant friendships.

• Special Events & Recognition: We actively honor military life through events like "Purple Up! Day" during Month of the Military Child (April) and special recognition during our annual Veterans Day programs.

• Interstate Compact Compliance: As a Texas public school, we honor the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children, ensuring flexibility with placement, course placement, immunizations, and kindergarten transition.
